Friday Favorites #14
Good morning and happy Friday! It’s a rainy morning over here, which is needed since we haven’t seen rain in a while. It also might pop some morels!
Today I am tagging along on a field trip for Lucas and the boys have a school carnival this evening. They call it Maycember for a reason, right? It’s all fun busy though! Tomorrow morning Andrew and Lucas have a soccer game, then our weekend is wide open. I am hoping for a balance of productivity and fun.
Here is my roundup of things that made me smile this week. Most of them were mentioned in my post yesterday.
Thanks for reading and stopping by:) Have a great weekend!
My Parents’ Visit
Yesterday, I posted a recap of my parents’ stay with us. You can read all about it here. Quality time with our parents is a gift we do not take for granted. We don’t see them as often now, so we make sure to really soak it up when we do.
Cherry Blossom Photo Shoot
I am in a Traverse City mom group on Facebook and a local photographer reached out about mini sessions in the cherry orchard. I loved the idea so secured a spot. Sometimes photo sessions with young children can bring a bit a stress, but this was actually a really great time! We were literally surrounded by cherry trees, a gorgeous, dreamy setting. I am very pleased with how they turned out, too!
Kitchen Backsplash Wallpaper
I came across the idea of using wallpaper as a backsplash in your kitchen, and immediately fell in love with it. Our kitchen was in need of some personality and touch of color. I follow Erin Napier on Instagram and saw she recently came out with her own line of wallpaper. I ordered a few samples and decided on Lemon Grove. My mom graciously accepted my request for some help and in all honesty, I could have not done the job without her. I’m loving the finished look!
Spa Pedicure
I scheduled a pedicure for myself and my mom as a Mother’s Day present and it was even more deserved after that wallpaper application. We had them done at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. It was a top-notch experience; my mom said it was the best pedicure she ever had. I don’t get them very often, so it was a real treat!
Date Night
Date night is always a favorite! We don’t get them as often now, so we really appreciate the opportunity when we do! Now that we’re settled up here, it’s time to find a date night sitter. Plus, there are so many amazing restaurants we still haven’t tried! We had a lovely dinner outside on the patio at West End Tavern followed by drinks at a trendy cocktail bar called The Parlor.
Also loving the dress I wore on date night; it’s so easy to dress up or down! I scored it on sale, too!
Fuzzy Open Toe Slippers
My last favorite is totally random, but it’s bringing me a little joy this week: slippers! While in the house, I always have to have something on my feet but now that the temps are rising, my winter slippers are too warm. I ordered these slippers off Amazon and they’re a new favorite! These slippers are very cozy but don’t overheat my feet. Also, under $20!
Your toes sure do look cute!!
Thank you! Long overdue!
i love your slippers, added to cart lol! and your pedicure color choice is gorgeous! love reading about your activities, enjoy the festival and your weekend!!!
Thank you, Haley, I appreciate your support so much!!!
