Friday Favorites #52

Annie October 4, 2024 Comments2

Happy October! It’s been a while since I have checked in. Since I did not get around to blogging about last weekend, I included parts of it in this week’s roundup of favorite things. Keep scrolling to read more! Have a fabulous weekend!

One on One Date with Owen

Last Saturday, Ryan and I had to divide and conquer for soccer because our games were at the same times in different locations. Since Ryan coaches Drew and Lucas’s team, I drove Owen out to Leland for his game. He played so well! I love to see him grow in his confidence and skills.

After his game, we decided to explore the famous Fishtown in Leland. Owen was very excited to see the salmon jumping along the dam! We also walked around the shops and ended our little morning date at Van’s Beach. I miss our Tuesdays and Thursdays together so much and this was just what I needed to ease that feeling. I am also going to make it a priority to have one on one time with each of them more often! It’s such special time:)

Annual Apple Picking

Every September since Andrew was a baby (had to include a photo!) we’ve gone apple picking as a family. It’s one of our favorite fall traditions for the past decade.

The past three years we have ventured to Jacob’s Farm, one of our favorite places in Leelanau. The boys were pretty into it this year, looking for the perfect ones, and we filled up a very full bag. So full in fact that it ended up breaking haha! We also enjoyed some apple cider and cinnamon donuts, another fall staple. The boys played at the playground and got a tractor ride too! It was a fun afternoon!

Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister

If you like a twisty thriller then this book is for you! It started out slow, but the pace does pick up and the unique plot hooks you in. It keeps you guessing for sure! It’s not one of the best books I have ever read, but I can always appreciate an unpredictable page turner.

DIY Tomato Cage Ghost

I’ve seen the viral tomato cage ghost all over Instagram and figured this was a DIY I could handle. It was very easy to put together and I think it turned out so cute! I do think I am going to make another one for the other side of the woodstove because the lack of symmetry is bothering me haha. I’m thinking the witch one, but not sure if I’ll get to it this year though!

Costco Autumn Grain Salad

This caught my eye at Costco, and it’s been my lunch every day this week! It’s full of yummy flavor and very filling. I also added some rotisserie chicken to it for some extra protein. Delicious!
