Then…

Ever since Andrew was born (9 years ago!) I have considered starting a blog. I thought I could reach out to other mothers who have received a Down syndrome diagnosis. Help them find some hope and light in what seems like a sad (even though it is far from) situation. I have always gravitated toward writing, and while I am no professional, it comes naturally as a way to express myself. Well, days turned into months and months into years and needless to say the blog never started. We used to call Andrew “Little Bug”. I even started a Facebook page with that name but never published it.

My Little Bug:)

Now…

Well, here we are nine years later, and I am going for it. Why now? Last year, we made a huge life change. We moved our family four hours north to Michigan. It was the biggest leap of faith I have ever made. I typically play it safe in life, have never really taken any risks. I have doubted myself a lot since, but in my heart, I know we made the right choice. The boys are thriving, and I am confident God led us on this path.

I took a year off teaching, and it has really allowed me to tune in on being a wife and mother. While I do miss teaching and will probably go back to some extent, right now I am soaking up these last few years with Owen until he is in elementary school full time. I have also decided that since I am not writing lesson plans or grading papers, I have a little extra time to blog about our new Michigan adventures.

So thank you for taking the time to visit and hopefully you will follow along! I am very new to this, so will need a little grace, but I truly hope to connect with my readers on a personal level. Thanks again for stopping by!
