Friday Favorites #11

Annie April 28, 2023 Comments0

Good morning and happy last Friday of April! I cannot believe how fast the month of April flew by. We had a very nice visit from Ryan’s parents, and it is definitely one of my favorites this week. Read on for the rest of the roundup and have a great weekend!

A Visit from Grandma & Grandpa

You can read all about Ryan’s parents’ visit on this blog post from a few days ago. I can never say enough good things about grandma and grandpa and how special they are to our family. We miss them so much already and really cherish the quality time we have with them.

Walli Case

For a few years now, I have been loyal to the Loopy case. While I love those cases, I happened to stumble upon an ad for Walli Cases and the prints immediately caught my eye. It also has a finger loop and even wallet pouch for a few cards. This is perfect when I don’t want a purse, I can simply stick my license and debit card in my phone case. The case seems to be great quality and I am obsessed with the Boho Blossoms pattern. They have a large selection of patterns and styles; it was hard to choose! Also, each month they give 100% of net profit to a family in need through their Walli Gives Back Foundation. How amazing is that?!

First Soccer Practice

With making the big move right before the beginning of the school year, we did not sign up the boys for any fall sports. We were settling into our new life, and it would have been too much. I wanted to make sure we signed them up in the spring and I decided on the Leelanau Soccer Club. It is close to home, so I thought it would give the boys a chance to meet peers in our community. Lucas and Andrew are playing on the same team and Owen is on a team too. This is Owen’s first experience with a team sport, so he was a bit hesitant. However, he ended up joining in and participating. That age is pretty darn cute to watch. We have our first game tomorrow morning. Goodbye slow Saturdays for now!

New Painted Storage Cabinet

We have this corner in our living room that just collects dust and toys. I have been on the hunt for quite some time now for a cabinet that would fit to offer storage in that area. The other day I went into one of my favorite stores up here, The Red Dresser. It is a beautiful marketplace with a variety of unique items made by local artisans. As I was browsing, this painted cabinet caught my eye and I had them place a 24-hour hold for me. After double checking the measurements, I went back and bought it the next day. I am still playing around styling it (thinking a lamp, maybe?) but loving it so far!

The Midwife’s Secret by Emily Gunnis

I have been wanting to read Emily Gunnis for a while now. I placed a hold for this one at the library and picked it up this week. While I am not too far into it, it seems to be a genre I have gravitated towards before: a historical fiction story tied to a present-day story sprinkled with mystery, secrets, and plot twists. Her style reminds me of another author I love: Kate Morton. I am intrigued so far, although I do keep flipping to the family tree diagram in the beginning to keep track of all the characters. There are quite a few storylines. Not sure if I recommend yet but will keep you posted!

Happy Weekend! 🙂
