Friday Favorites #26

Annie September 8, 2023 Comments1

Happy Friday! We have made it through the first week of school. All three boys did great this week with new routines, teachers, and just getting back into the groove. They deserve some play and relaxation this weekend! We have a birthday party on the agenda but other than that, it’s open for hopefully a mix of productivity and fun.

Today I plan to get all the fall/Halloween bins out of storage to begin decorating! I love making our home cozy this time of year.

Have a good one and keep on scrolling for my favorites this week:)

Labor Day

We had an epic Labor Day weekend saying goodbye to summer. The weather was perfect for swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, and biking. There’s a part of me that just isn’t ready to let go of summer yet!

Target Acorn Trails Candle

Even though I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to summer, I am ready for all the fall candles! They are my favorite. This week on a Target run, I picked up this candle, and it smells amazing. I didn’t want a pumpkin scent and this Acorn Trails candle brings a cozy, woodsy vibe with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. It fills the room and I love it.

First Day of School!

We are officially off summer schedule and back to school schedule! Like I said, all three boys did awesome embracing their first day of school this week. Their happy, excited smiles reassured me we have found a really great school community up this way. While I love the freedom summer brings, it feels nice to settle back into routine. Back to school is always bittersweet because while it brings joy of new beginnings and growth, it’s also a tough reminder how quickly the years seem to go by. This is Owen’s last year of being in school part time, so I really plan to soak it all up before kindergarten next year. I can’t even begin to wrap my head around that right now!

One on One Time with Owen

With that being said, another favorite this week is having that special time with Owen on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Tuesday, we went to the beach since it was still feeling like summer. Owen and I skipped rocks, went in the water a bit, and built a sandcastle. I am beyond grateful to have this time with him and to hold on to these little years as much as I can.

Lunch Box Notes

I don’t put notes in the boys’ lunches everyday but sometimes it’s a sweet surprise if I know they have something going on at school or just because. In the past, I would just use post-it notes or napkins, but I saw these on Amazon and thought they were so cute. They come in a pack of 108 and am sure they will last the whole year since I won’t use every day. I don’t think any two cards are the same and they all have a cute picture and message on the front. There is space on the back to write a personal message. Lucas can also read them this year which makes it extra special:)
