TGIF! We’re taking a little family getaway this weekend! After school, we are driving to Grand Rapids to stay overnight then meeting Ryan’s family in Holland tomorrow for Tulip Time. The tulips bloomed rather early this year so not sure if that part will be a flop, but still looking forward to quality family time. The boys love a hotel stay, so I am sure we’re in for some wild fun!

It’s also Mother’s Day weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and mothers-at-heart. Your love, care, and dedication are important work in this world. God bless you all!

Throne of Glass by Sarah Maas

Throne of Glass has been on my radar for a while now since I loved the ACOTAR series by Sarah Maas. I finally decided to go for it (this is an eight-book series!) and am flying through this first book. It has major Game of Thrones/The Last Kingdom vibes with its setting along with high packed action, murder, twists, suspense, and even some potential romance (not a huge focus though like ACOTAR). The main plot is a competition among several assassins and warriors to become the King’s Champion. I have no doubt I will move on to book 2 and look forward to getting lost in this series!

Non-Slip Furniture Grippers

You know some things that bug you and you just live with them for too long? We have a loveseat and end table that I was constantly putting back in place every day. (I have three boys who love to climb and move around in every nook and cranny lol). I figured there had to be something on Amazon to solve this problem. Yep! GorillaPads! That loveseat and end table haven’t budged an inch since I put these babies on. It was such a simple, effective solution, just wish I would have done it sooner!

Morel Hunting

We have ventured out to hunt for morels a few times this week. Ryan especially enjoys it. I like that it is a way to explore nature with purpose. If you read my last post, you’ll know we found some! We haven’t had too much luck since then but will definitely keep trying. Drew is getting into it too, which is so cute! This does mean more frequent tick checks though!!

Bel Lago North Farm

This week’s Forest School took place at Bel Lago Winery‘s farm! We saw some pretty cool cows, beautiful cherry trees, cute ducklings, and more. Owen has so much fun with his friends each week and it will continue to be a favorite!

Teachers Who Care

If you have a child in school, you probably know this week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Our PTO does an amazing job of making our teachers feel extra loved and special this week. We have sent in flowers, school supplies, and have written notes from the heart of our appreciation. This week two of the boys’ teachers have made an effort to reach out to me. Both messages truly made my day, and I am so thankful the boys are in such good hands at school. I was also sent this super sweet photo of Drew and Lucas. It absolutely melts my heart!
