Friday Favorites #5

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a better week than we are. Unfortunately, sickness hit the McCarthy household early this week, but I was still able to round up some Friday favorites. Thanks for stopping by! Happy weekend!

Friends Visiting from Ohio!

Last weekend, we had our first visit from friends! Haley, Jimmy, Ella, and Connor arrived Thursday evening and stayed through Sunday. We packed a lot in the two full days they were here. Some of the fun included brunch at 45th Parallel Cafe and Omelette Shoppe, a scenic hike at Pyramid Point, a few wineries (we tried Blustone Vineyards for the first time and it did not disappoint), Hop Lot, and snow tubing at Timberlee Hills. We do not take this quality time for granted and cannot wait for their next visit!

Amazon Stanley Cup Dupe

Lucas broke the straw on my daily water cup so I have been on the lookout for a new one. I know the Stanley is a popular choice, but it’s just too pricey for me. This cup showed up as a lightning deal on Amazon a few weeks ago (I scored it for $9!). I figured for that price I wouldn’t be out much if it was junk. It had no reviews at the time. Now it has 27 reviews, most of them 5 stars! It’s actually very good quality. I love the built in straw, it keeps my water very cold (I don’t use it for coffee so can’t report on how long it keeps drinks hot), and it fits in my van’s cupholder. My only small complaint is the lid is a little tricky to get on and off, but it’s really not a big deal at all. I definetely recommend, especially if you’ve been looking for a Stanley dupe! It also comes in three other colors. The lilac looks perfect for spring! I do see it is now priced at $35 which is a lot more than I paid. Maybe wait for another deal!

New England Breakfast Blend Coffee

I was getting tired of buying the same old boring coffee (usually Folgers) and wanted something a little higher quality. I decided to search for coffee on Amazon (because what can’t you buy on Amazon) and this one happened to pop up. It’s somewhat pricey but I save by using Subsribe & Save. It has a smooth flavor, and Ryan says it doesn’t even need creamer. I never take my coffee black so I can’t attest to that, but it does taste delicious with the creamer I mentioned last Friday. The Hazelnut Creme sounds good too!

30 Day Fitness Challenge App

I have not had a fitness routine since I lived in Ohio. Of course, the week I decide to start, the whole family gets sick! Even though I have only used this app for a few days, I can tell it’s going to be great for easing back into one. I do really miss Pure Barre but with me not working right now, I want something I can do at home for free. I downloaded this app and it’s very easy to navigate. You can choose different levels of fitness and different types of workouts. I am only using the free version right now, but the paid subscription offers a lot more. The 30-Day Challenge is two short workouts twice a day, and I can link my own music. Looking forward to getting back to it now that I’m feeling better!

After a busy week of visitors and sickness, we are going to keep the weekend pretty low key. I am starting to get the itch for spring so some spring cleaning and freshening up may be on the agenda here. I also want to get back to reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo which I haven’t finished yet. The clocks go ahead one hour this weekend so that’s always fun losing the hour of sleep. However, if it’s one step closer to actual spring I’ll take it!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
