Friday Favorites #55

Annie February 28, 2025 Comments3

Happy Friday! We’re somehow two months into 2025 already. This is definitely the time of year I begin to crave spring! We got some teaser weather this past week (one of my favorites) but now winter is back again. I am fine with March coming in as a lion as long as it decides to go out as a lamb;)

Grandpa arrived yesterday so we are looking forward to a fun weekend with him celebrating Owen’s birthday. We have an igloo reserved tonight at Hop Lot and snow tubing reservations tomorrow night. Getting all that last minute winter fun in!

Andrew is in a self-contained classroom which means we have to advocate for inclusion. Thankfully, we have an awesome school that makes it easy! Lucas’s music class is performing a concert this afternoon. This is something Andrew has never really had an opportunity to do so I thought it was worth asking to see if he could be included with Lucas’s class. They were very willing to include Drew, send me the music, and get him ready to perform with his peers. I was so appreciative of the extra effort and look forward to the performance later today!

Have a great weekend and keep scrolling for some of my favorite things this week:)

Owen Turns 6

Owen turned 6 on Wednesday! It is truly hard to believe, which I know is so cliché to say. But he’s my youngest and we are officially done having “littles”. I am a full on middle mom. It’s very bittersweet because I am absolutely loving this stage of motherhood. However, raising young children as newborns through age 5 is so special and I will truly miss that chapter. It all goes by in a blink, so if you are still in that stage, SOAK IT UP.

With Ryan working during the week, we decided to continue Owen’s birthday celebration this weekend with Grandpa. I did let Owen pick out a place to eat after school and he chose Chick fil a (which made Drew happy). He also opened his presents from Mim and Papa on Facetime followed and we sang Happy Birthday of course. Owen was excited to celebrate his birthday at school too:)

Fresh Flowers

Ryan got me roses for Valentine’s Day and it was a quick reminder of how much I enjoy fresh flowers in the house. For whatever reason, I don’t typically buy them during the winter, but I feel this time of year is when you really need that touch of spring inside. I picked some up at Meijer this week and they are making me smile.

Spring Teaser Weather

“Silver white winters that melt into spring…” Most of this week hit above 40 degrees (it even reached 50!) with sunshine and blue skies. Glorious! I love God’s little reminders this time of year that spring is on its way. I know we still have to patient, but it does help to have this glimmer of hope. Either way, I am ready to pack away my winter decor and add some touches of spring inside (even if it’s still winter outside).

Alani Energy Drink

This was one of those random things I saw at Target that I thought I would give a whirl. I opted for the peach flavor but there were many to choose from. I am not an energy drink person but sometimes you just need that extra pick me up. This tastes really good (not too sweet) and gives you a smaller caffeine fix than a regular cup of coffee. I don’t think it’s something I will drink everyday but more than likely will buy again.

Bedtime Story Night

Bedtime Story Night is an annual event at our school that the boys always look forward to. It is how the school sets up their book fair along with some other fun literacy related activities. They also get to wear their pjs! If you read my post about mom guilt, I hoped to redeem myself a bit by taking them to Bedtime Story Night. They had a lot of fun, so I think I did! It helped they got to bring home some new books too:)
